Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, often regarded as the founder of Pakistan, was one of the greatest leaders history has ever seen. Muhammad Ali Jinnah became a great leader through his courage, determination, selfless devotion, and unwavering commitment to creating a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent. His tireless efforts turned what seemed like an impossible dream into the reality of Pakistan. His hard work and selfless devotion led to the development of a new country.
Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s birthplace was Wazir Mansion, Karachi. He was born in 25th December 1876 in a prosperous Gujarati merchant family. His father, Jinnah Poonja was a successful merchant and his mother Mitthibai Jinnah, looked after her large family including their seven children. Muhammad Ali Jinnah was the eldest of all siblings. He was very close to his younger sister Fatimah Jinnah who was a trusted advisor, a dental surgeon, and the Mother of the Nation (Māder-e Millat) who played a major role in the Pakistan Movement.
Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s first recorded formal school was the Sindh Madressatul Islam school in Karachi, where he enrolled in 1887. He also briefly attended the Christian Missionary Society High School in Karachi to strengthen his English before moving to London in 1892 due to a business offer and an apprenticeship opportunity from Sir Frederick Leigh Croft (managing agents of Graham Trading Company). His age was 16 at that time. After leaving his business apprenticeship with Sir Frederick Leigh Croft in London, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah joined Lincoln’s Inn to study law in 1893. He then became a barrister at the age of 19 after being called to the bar in 1896.
He became one of the youngest barristers in India and came back to Bombay. With his sharp mind and strong arguments, he soon became a well-known lawyer.
