Privacy Policy

Last Updated: November 1, 2026

At The Study Guys (TSG), we respect the privacy of our website visitors, student contributors, parents and guardians. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected, why it is used and how it is handled when you use our website or participate in our educational activities.

1. Information for General Visitors

Visitors can browse The Study Guys without creating an account or directly providing personal information.

  • No email address is required simply to read our educational content.
  • No phone number or home address is required for general browsing.
  • No payment details are required to access our regular educational resources.
  • No user account is needed to read our essays, paragraphs and quotes.

However, our website and third-party services may automatically process certain technical information, such as browser details, device information and website activity. See Section 5 for information about cookies and analytics.

2. Student Essay Submissions Student Submissions

Students may submit their original writing through our Submit Your Essay page.

What information may be collected?

Depending on the submission form, we may collect:

  • Name: To identify and credit the student contributor.
  • Grade: To understand the student's educational level.
  • Age: If requested by the form, to provide context when reviewing the writing.

How are student essays handled?

Student essays are handled separately through the Submit Your Essay process. They are not automatically added to The Study Guys' regular published editorial essays or mixed with existing TSG articles.

Submitting an essay does not automatically publish it, modify an existing article or interrupt the normal publication of The Study Guys' educational content.

Every submission is reviewed by the TSG team. We may accept or reject submissions based on originality, relevance, quality and our content guidelines.

An essay will only be considered for public publication after editorial review and appropriate permission has been obtained. If accepted, the student and their parent or guardian should be informed about the information that may appear publicly.

The TSG team may decline to publish an essay even if it has been submitted successfully.

Email information

The Submit Your Essay form is intended to collect the information displayed in its submission fields. It does not request an email address under its current configuration. If this changes, this Privacy Policy will be updated.

3. Review and Moderation

Every student essay goes through manual review by the TSG team before any publication decision is made.

We reserve the right to reject submissions that:

  • Contain plagiarism or copied material.
  • Include inappropriate or harmful content.
  • Do not meet our educational and editorial standards.
  • Contain unnecessary personal or sensitive information.

Student submissions and published TSG editorial content are treated as separate content workflows.

4. Water Guardian Campaign Submissions Save Water, Save Life

The Save Water, Save Life campaign is a separate educational initiative by The Study Guys.

A parent or guardian should submit the completed Water Guardian Challenge on behalf of the participating child.

What information may be received?

  • The parent's or guardian's email address.
  • The child's first name, if voluntarily provided for a certificate.
  • A completed Water Guardian Challenge PDF or photographs of its printed pages.
  • An optional photograph of a water-awareness poster.

A child's first name is optional and is used only to prepare the certificate. Do not include a child's full name, school name, address, phone number or other identifying information in a poster.

Please do not send photographs of children or other people.

How is this information used?

Campaign submissions are used only to:

  • Review the completed challenge.
  • Prepare and send a Water Guardian certificate.
  • Maintain anonymous campaign participation totals.

Children's names and personal details are not published on the campaign page. Campaign progress may be displayed as anonymous totals.

We do not sell children's information or use campaign submission details for advertising.

Who may process the information?

Access to campaign submissions is restricted to people handling the campaign and certificates. Email and hosting service providers may process or store information as necessary to deliver and retain submissions.

How long is campaign information kept?

Campaign submissions are kept only for as long as reasonably necessary to review participation and prepare the certificate.

Submissions should be deleted when they are no longer needed. Deletion may need to be carried out manually; this policy does not mean that an automatic deletion system is in place.

Anonymous totals that cannot identify individual children may be retained.

A parent or guardian may request deletion by contacting us at contact@thestudyguys.com .
